Here's the first page, I went a little overboard with the twine this week but it went so good with the red and white date card I couldn't resist.
- Sunday: Generational photo with Great Grandpa, Uncle, Daddy, Grandson, and Papa.
- Monday: Sibling Moment: It was so cute, ER watched LB for me while I ran to get something in the next room. I could hear her singing "Patty Cake" to him, and LB giggling. I took this photo when I came back in and said, "Look up!"
- Tuesday: Milestone: ER jump roping, a BIG deal to her.
- Wednesday: Busy, busy, busy day for us. We got a last minute cancellation appointment bright and early at the dentist for ER. Rushed home to get her ready for kindergarten. I ran with LB to Costco. Arrived just in time to get ER off the bus. Then snack followed by book club, for her at the library. Brad met us and we did the switch off so I could dash to my FIRST hair cut since before LB was born. That means, oh let's see, it was over six months since my last trim. No wonder my hair looked a hot mess!
- Thursday: Our photos were up from the professional photo shoot we had at the end of December. I was so excited to see them on our online gallery.
- Friday: It's official LB has transitioned from back to stomach position for sleeping. It's not an issue now that he's rolling. We're wondering if he'll sleep with his posterior up on the air for as long as ER did.
- Saturday: Since getting our pictures I've been obsessively looking at photo ideas online and realized that we didn't have "naked" baby pictures of LB! Shocking; it had to be rectified immediately! Baby skin is so precious, isn't it?
Most Project Lifer's know several supplies are currently out of stock. The 6X12 page protectors are really popular, probably because of the fabulous things Cathy Zielske's been doing with them. I thought about just waiting until the pages came back in. Then decided to go ahead and do something I've been wanting to do for a long time but was too scared to try.
Sewing on plastic!
I thought the page protector would be slippery. Things would jam, you name it I worried...but I just went slow and it worked really well. I used my pinking shears to trim down, but probably won't do that too often. I don't want them to get all dull for when I need them for fabric. It was fun and now I can think of so many possibilities!

what sweet memories and I love how babies bring out the socializing in grandparents. my grandparents go nuts over photos of my kids...wish they lived closer then 12 hours away. sewing on plastic...i haven't done that yet, trust that you can....just haven't.
I love twine too, do you order yours or have you found it locally? I have found 6x12 pages oddly at TJMaxx, Big Lots and other odd stores like that....you may want to try and see..
Keep Calm and Project Life on!
Wow! Great idea for an insert since they are out. I've been anxiously awaiting for them to come back in!
Can you go overboard with cute twine? I don't think so. I also love your cute little banner that you made by folding circles. Love. So fun!!
Love your pages, so inspiring!
You had a great week. Your PL is lovely - wonderful to catch those moments from your kids.
Thanks for dropping by my blog.
I'm so glad to see someone who did the sewing on a full sheet protector!!! I saw the trick on pinterest and thought about making some 6x12 pages for the random bits I've been trying to save for my finished book. Have you tried scrapbooking scissors instead of the pinking sheers? Or a cheap pair of pinking shears from WalMart? That way you can "save" the expensive ones!
That little "sleep" banner you made is adorable! I've been thinking about sewing on plastic too - I'm glad it worked out!! That might give me the push to try it too. I love the way you used the insert to tell the story of the generations meeting - such a special time!!
Loved your use of twine. I don't think you went overboard at all! :) Great job on the insert!
I absolutely adore your spread! Awesome detail- and titlework! Love.
LOVE your pages! So cute!! :)
Oh, this is great Katie! I love it all - especially your 6x12 insert with all the photos of visiting with Great Grandpa! And great idea about using the pinking shears!! I don't sew, so I don't have to worry about keeping mine sharp for fabric!! :-)
You're right, this does remind me of my mom's 365 book! But it looks really great. So smart making your own 6x12 pp.
I really like your pictures in the inserts- did you print them as a collage or just crop them to fit? And I love the texture the twine brings! Might have to break some of that out for next week!
Hi Whitney: I hope you see this! I usually try to respond to questions via email but your profile is private and not linked to an email address...
Do you mean the picture with four little ones on it? That is one 4X6, I used a template from Paislee Press to do that...and also the milestones photo. I linked to them in last week's post. They are great and free so if you haven't gotten them I highly recommend you do: http://paisleepress.com/2012/01/project-life-title-page-year-in-review-photo-templates/
Have to admit...I cheated with the page protectors and ordered some from a local store here in Australia, because I've switched to an American Crafts album (really didn't like the turquoise album when it arrived!)Glad you've conquered your fear of sewing on plastic, but hope the PL goodies will be back in stock soon. Your pages are awesome!
Hi, Katie! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Luv your sweet comment. I'll try to post something in English, once I'm following the PL Tuesdays. Your blog is very very nice with lots'o traffic, my gosh! Hope someday I have too many readers, yaay!
Thank you once more!
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I LOVE so much of what you have done on your PL for this week! The banner with twine on the right is one of my favorites.
And, great job sewing on plastic! I've been too afraid to try it yet :) So many great ideas for me to think about using on my next PL spread -- thanks for sharing!
Your pages look great!
I've never sewn anything other than fabric. Cool to know that the plastic worked!
yes, a new purse would be much better than a medical bill! :)
