A Baby Book for Maryanne

My friend Maryanne from Crafty Mommy Diva and Scrappy Gifts is having a little girl any minute now and I wanted to send her a little mini book to celebrate her second child. Even though Maryanne scraps, I know it's always nice to have something on hand that you can just add photos too, plus with a newborn and a toddler I'm sure she'll be plenty busy! The style is a simple accordion fold with pockets and tags, tutorial here. This is the first time I used glittered paper for the book base and I would not recommend it. It makes for harder folding. On the cover is a large photo mat; she can slip the photo beneath the title. It's attached with foam squares. Here's a view of the top of the book, with the back cover in the forefront. I just added a little sticker tag so she can write details on it, like the approximate date range of the photos she adds to the book. The first page spread has a vellum sticker for baby information, two inked paper rectangles with inked scalloped circles. One has the baby's monogram on it and the other an epoxy sticker. The inked vellum spots are photo mats.
On the next page spread are some pre-made embellishments and a little pacifier charm. The other side has baby bath stickers and another photo mat. The last page spread of the front of the accordion has the baby's initials and photo mat. The other side has two small photo mats, a journaling spot, button, epoxy sticker, date sticker tag, and pre-made embellishment. On the backside of the accordion fold are two more page spreads. The first I embellished simply, the left side has fun flocked alphabet stickers to spell out the sentiment. The last decoration part has a spot for a picture of the new family of our and room for another photo on the other side. Inside of each pocket is a little embellished tag that Maryanne can add more photos and journaling too. I picked a color palate of soft pastels that was feminine without being pink, pink, pink. I hope she likes it! I'll have another little project that I sent to Maryanne to share tomorrow.

  9. This is such a cute album and would be a great project for me to copy for my friend Alissa who is due in July, but I left all my scrapbooking stuff in San Diego :( Guess I will have to have my parents ship it to me sooner rather than later!
