Guess what? Not one but TWO of my closest blogging buddies and favorite moms are in the August issue of Family Fun Magazine! They join exclusive company, like oh gee, me☺ Kim from Four Crazy Kings is an amazing source for kid's crafts. Plus she's an adult adoptee from Korea, just like me! She used to design wonderful stationary products and is one multi-talented woman!
Not only is her idea featured in Everyday Fun, she made the coveted "Blogs We Love" status! Way to go KIM!!!
In my opinion, Amy from Teach Mama is THE go to resource for literacy ideas and strategies. She often shares effective ways to add learning into your daily life and most importantly they're fun too! I know her appearance in the Mailbag section is a dream come true. I'm so happy for you Amy!
Confession, I'm a bit of groupie, did you see the picture of us together at the Disney Social Media Mom's Conference? I even recruited her to write for ABC & 123, cause she's THAT fabulous☺ She's going to be even more famous soon, cause she's speaking at BlogHer 2010!
After those two super cool features, I thought I'd just mention that someone else has been popping up around the blogisphere. Did you see me on Tip Junkie last week? I have to tell you it's my SIXTH shout out and it does not get old, not one bit! I also showed up on Paper & Cake's blog because they liked my Beach Bucket Party Favors so much! Thanks for featuring me ladies! While I might not have won anything from Kendra's Christmas in July event, I did get an honorable mention. So yay me!
And now, for some more things that are making me happy from around the web...
Have you ever taken an online class at Big Picture Scrapbooking? I've been wanting to, for like for-evah! Guess what?! There's going to be a free one and there's still time to sign up! Big Idea Festival sounds like a lot of fun, with thirteen days of fun and 39 free projects! I can't WAIT!!! Look at this darling printable alphabet bunting! You can print just the ones you need and there's even a heart spacer. I love the muted tones and how they'll work for so many different occasions. Thank you to Ruffled for sharing! While you're there check out the photo station sign! I think it would also be awesome for a family reunion or birthday party too. These table numbers are so beautiful that I've been racking my brain for a reason to print them out. Have you heard Kind Over Matter? They have a whole slew of free printables and tutorials all with the theme of being kind and nice to others. There are lots and lots of mini cards you can hand out to make someone's day, affirmation cards to improve your own outlook on life, beautiful printable art, several ways to help say "I love you", and way more. With so much negativity out there, it's refreshing to find a place that reminds us that the world would be a lot happier if we were all nicer.I also wanted to mention my friend Kelli, and how much I enjoy her weekly post. It always makes me pause and think about all the things I have to be thankful for, the things I should be focusing on.
Other bloggers inspiring me are Call Me Karo and her beautiful post, Today... Thanks to my friend Michelle for suggesting I read it. I am also loving the concept of Whisker Graphic's 5 Good Things Booklet. I'm printing them out and I think everyone else should too!
And finally, yes I know this is really random, have you tried the new salads at Wendy's? Omigolly are they good. I forgot I was eating "fast food"! That's my personal fave the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad above, right before I ate it all up. The pomegranate dressing is great, just the right amount of tartness against the creamy blue cheese and crunch of the pecans. Not truely diet food, darn it, but a tasty occasional splurge.
One more thing, I'm part of a blog tour for children's author Janet Halfmann on Friday. She'll be popping in to see if any readers have left her questions in the comments. I want it to be really successful because she is so nice and super excited for her first blog tour. I'll even have an autographed copy of her newest title to giveaway. Please join us!
I'm such a dork! Like when I read ER in the magazine, I was thinking she looks so familiar. It said your name and everything. I saw both of those, and I regularly visit their blogs. For some reason I can't make a connection from real life and magazine life and blog life. You gals are only in my computer! hahaha
ReplyDeleteSo funny because I adore Amy too and I'm making the jelly fish with my campers tomorrow!!
ReplyDeleteHave been wanting to try the salad at Wendy's-- you've sold me, I'll get one next time we're out and about.
Oh my gosh, Katie!! You are too sweet! I'm a big fan of Four Crazy Kings, too--I just haven't had time to really crack open our FF Mag since we got it!
ReplyDeleteNow I better get rolling!
hugs and many, many thanks--
me
Wow that was a lot to sort through :)!
ReplyDeleteI'm so checking out some of those links.
I wish I had a great question for your visiting author, it looks like she has some interesting books.
Thanks for the shout out! Sorry I have been MIA! I will be back! Congrats on your features. You have so many great ideas. When i get a moment to breath I will check out the posts.
ReplyDeleteI only wish I could get a clone of you to teach Lu's Kindergarten class this year. I am so nervous and excited for her and want her to have a good year. you know we debated on the whole hold her back thing.
Since our summer has consisted of fast food, I wish i had known Wendy's salads were so good. I put on 5 of the lbs I lost before this whole move thing. Ah well, I keep saying, when the kids start school... But by then it might be 10lbs. Aargh!
take care!
