We've been taking part of a 30 day challenge to wash our clothes on cold and line dry them. Did you know that if the average family did this, they could save almost $200 in year! Plus, if every household in the U.S. replaced just one bottle of traditional 100 oz. concentrate laundry liquid with a 100 oz. concentrate plant-derived product, like Seventh Generation, we could save 466,000 barrels of oil, enough to heat and cool 26,800 U.S. homes for a year. WOW, that shows me that little changes can make a big difference!
I'd love for you to click on the play button below and view my vlog to see how the challenge has been going for us.
Don't forget to check back in two weeks to see how the overall challenge went and to find out how you can win a Seventh Generation “Project Laundry Line” kit that includes Seventh Generation Natural 2x Concentrated Laundry Liquid (good for 66 loads of laundry), portable laundry line, clothes pins, and laundry basket!
Disclosure: Seventh Generation provided me with the free product, gift pack, and giveaway through MyBlogSpark as well as with a Flip Camera to enable me to make this vlog. This vlog presents my own unbiased opinions and experiences with the product and challenge.
Fun! I do use cold water to wash but I don't line dry. I am very interested to hear how it all works for your family. It was also nice hearing your voice...you seem "more real" now. Isn't that crazy?!?!
ReplyDeleteAnd, did you say y'all have humidity in MI?????
I agree with Tara...awesome to hear you talking...
ReplyDeleteHumidity is a huge factor here, too. I wash approximately 5/6 loads in cold water, but I do a load of whites every week...and they get hot.
Wow, those statistics are amazing. I was our color clothes in cold water, but our whites, I still wash in hot. I love Seventh Generation products, I just wish this sold them at our local Target.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the challenge...your vlog is great!
I have to add, I love your kitchen's art on the cabinets!
ReplyDeleteGreat Job! And I like how the clothespins looked in the glass container. I always use cold but have never used a laundry line. Can't wait to hear your results!
ReplyDeleteI love line drying but haven't done it in forever....I think I may need hubby to set my line up:) Can't wait to see how it worked for you!
ReplyDeleteyeah! Great great great post.
ReplyDeleteI already use 7th Generation Detergent in our machine. I hang half of the family clothes (ones I don't want to shrink). I hang ALL diapers. Its been raining here for weeks so I haven't been able to use my outdoor makeshift clothesline too much this year.
I love clotheslines.
you are so cute!!! we wash on cold, yaaay for us!
ReplyDeletebut we don't have anything in our backyard to string a line from:( my grandma used to line dry, loved when she did it.
great job on your video!
