Memorabilia & Photo Bookmarks

We've been really lucky lately and been able to go some great shows. Of course I had to save each of our tickets. I'll use some when I scrapbook the events, but needed something do with the rest, so they didn't end up becoming clutter. This idea is so quick and simple, it probably doesn't really need instructions, but here they are just in case. I picked a picture from the Disney on Ice show we went to, this one was perfect because you can see a lot of the cast members and there isn't very much in the top portion of the photo. Cropped it to fit on the backside of the ticket and adhered with my permanent tape runner. You could also make a collage of several pictures from an event and size them in a digital editing program to fit.

Laminate the ticket now bookmark, or cover both sides with clear packing tape, punch a hole at one end, and add some ribbon. Now we have a fun and functional memento of our special outing. The only drawback is that ER always wants to look at the bookmark and keeps pulling it out of my book!
We've also been using one when we read her longer picture books before bed to hold our place until the next night. When I taught, the older grades had an assigned number of minutes of independent reading per week. I was thinking these would be fun bookmarks for them to make and use too.

They'd also be a fun tag to use on a scrapbook page, maybe within a pocket element as an interactive component in your layout. Just be sure to mist the tickets with acid neutralizer spray before using them in your books.

  11. Great idea!

By the way my hubby took Lu to Disney Princesses on ice...they spent the entire show in the hallway watching it through the windows in the door. Oh well...

  13. That is a great idea--you know what else you could do small pieces of your kids art work and they could use the different book marks.
This will be in my FAVS.
