ER and I did this very simple craft project, using a set of glittery foam leaves I picked up at the Dollar Store. I hand cut out a tree shape from scrapbook paper. She glued it onto a blue sheet of scrapbok paper and then added all the leaves. It's supposed to look like the leaves are falling. An AUTUMN rub-on and a family picture from last Thanksgiving completed it.
I put it in a frame from Ikea. I accidentally broke the glass for it; thought this was a good way to still be able to use it. A lot of our crafts have 3D components like pom poms or google eyes so the glass would have to be removed to frame them anyway.
It adds a nice touch of color to our wall. I told ER we were scrapbooking together, which she loved! The photo is in a plastic sleeve, and I thought it might be nice to switch up the picture next year and put it up again. I am thinking about making a new masterpiece every month, so it'll be an ever changing art display. I've got to get ER hooked on scrapbooking early, after all☺
Very nice, and I really like your idea of changing out the photo from year to year.
ReplyDeleteVery cute and I love that ER helped.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! A changing art display is very cool too! I had a friend that had an easel at her front door and changed out artwork often. I always though that was really neat!
ReplyDeleteCame out great! I love the idea of the plastic sleeve.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely image, and it's so fun that you got to involve your daughter in something you love (scrapbooking). I find such joy in sewing with my son on my knee.
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous frame idea!! Good idea with the plastic sleeve!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this (I've been meaning to comment, sorry it has taken me forever to get back here), you always have such great ideas. This one looks so nice and I like the idea of changing it out once in a while. Gosh, your house must just look so cool with all your craftiness and great framed art!!
