ER has always had bedtime idiosyncrasies.
She slept all swaddled up a lot longer than most babies. Then when she finally outgrew her swaddling blankets, she had to be in a sleep sack. Next she would only sleep on her belly with her legs tucked underneath in the exact same corner, every time. That stage lasted for over a year. It was finally replaced with, needing her legs and feet to be sticking out through the slats in the front, when we changed her crib into a toddler bed. Then came sleeping in bed with every single baby she owned, we thought that was over when for a brief week or so she wanted to sleep in a completely empty bed. Apparently, it was just a brief respite. Now she wants it jam packed again, and for the last few months she's added a new addition to her bedtime rituals.
Oh boy, can I relate! We've haven't reached tent status (maybe because she's sleeping in the lower half of a bunk bed and it already feels like a tent) but my toddler is obsessed with sleeping in a bed jammed with four baby dolls, at least 3 books, a handful of Fisher price Little People and a zillion stuffed animals. Cleaning her sheets is a joy!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness if that is not just the cutest! M only wants her 2 handmade blankets and her pillow on her bed. Try to place anything else even near by her bed and she freaks out! It's kinda funny sometimes..haha
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! It is so fun what they can come up with to be important to them. :)
ReplyDeleteoh, that is funny- the tent!! lol gavin and gage both slept like she did as a baby, with their butts in the air!!
ReplyDeletekids are so silly!!
how was your trip???
hugs ♥
Too funny! That's how my 3 yr old sleeps too-we have to make a tent for her :) All my girls have to have their special stuff in bed with them too.
ReplyDeleteI just want to say hello! I just found your blog so will be your newest follower! I am fighting with my daughter. We just switched her about a month ago to her toddler bed and um...she won't sleep in it Maybe I'll try the tent!
ReplyDeleteLol! I think you may need to take out your sewing machine and sew a tent that won't fall off. This when your craftiness will pay off! I do love that strawberry blanket...looks cozy.
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and her baby picture is so sweet. Kids come up with the funniest things. Aubrey has to have about 50 things in her bed and 5 blankets but no tent...I don't think I will let her see this.
ReplyDeleteHa,ha,ha, is too funny because my girls take their nap like ER.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Oh my goodness! This is too funny! Mikayla's bed barely has room for her and it's a twin-size. There are so many animals sleeping with her that it's getting a little out of hand. I definitely won't let her see this picture, or she might get the same idea. ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is so sweet! That picture of her all tucked in the corner, makes me weepy for another baby:)
ReplyDeleteFixing that tent thing at 2 in the morning will bug me too:)
But, kids and their bed issues are so cute!
